CHOICES FOR SUPPORTERS OF PUBLIC EDUCATION IN FEDERAL ELECTION 2001

DOGS CONGRATULATE THE AUSTRALIAN EDUCATION UNION ON THEIR SUPPORT FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION THROUGH THEIR WEB PAGE AND ELECTION INFORMATION.

SUPPORTERS OF PUBLIC EDUCATION WHO LISTEN TO THE DOGS PROGRAM ON 3 CR AND FOLLOW THE AUSTRALIAN EDUCATION UNION WEBSITE WILL UNDERSTAND THAT PUBLIC EDUCATION SUPPORTERS  HAVE

            1.      AN OPPORTUNITY TO VOTE FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION

            2.    AN OPPORTUNITY TO PUT LIBERAL POLITICIANS WHO HAVE UNDERFUNDED  OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND TRIED TO PRIVATISE OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM - LAST.

In Victoria the SOCIALIST ALLIANCE  have had the courage to support a policy of sole public funding for public schools and opposition to public funding of private church schools.

Throughout Australia the GREENS have taken up the cause of public education, although they have not had the courage to oppose public funding of private church shcools.

The DEMOCRATS are aware of the awakening public school vote but their education policy fails to bite the State Aid bullet.

Similarly the LABOUR PARTY is still too enamoured of the Roman Catholic church school vote to provide a policy suitable for public education.

So, DOGS suggest,

In Victoria, give your first preference to the SOCIALIST ALLIANCE in both houses of Parliament.

Give your next preference to the GREENS

and -

PUT THE LIBERALS LAST.
